General questions
How do I book a trip with Pakistan Mountaineering Club?
Send us an enquiry through the site or message us on WhatsApp. We reply with dates, an itinerary and a clear quote, then confirm your booking once you are happy with the plan.
Is Pakistan safe for foreign trekkers?
Yes. The trekking regions of Gilgit-Baltistan are calm and very welcoming to foreign visitors. We manage permits, transport and on-trail safety throughout. See our safety guide for full detail.
Do you help with the Pakistan visa and Letter of Invitation?
Yes. We provide a Letter of Invitation to support your tourist visa application and guide you through the process. Our visa and LOI guide explains every step.
How do payments work?
We confirm the price in USD and agree a simple deposit and balance schedule with you directly. For now, enquiries and booking arrangements are handled over WhatsApp and email.
What is the best time of year to visit?
May to October for most trips. The high glacier treks like K2 Base Camp run June to September, while Hunza and Skardu tours work from spring to autumn.
How fit do I need to be?
It depends on the trip. Hunza and Skardu tours are easy, Fairy Meadows and Rakaposhi are moderate, and K2 Base Camp is strenuous. Each tour page lists the difficulty and fitness needed.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Travel and medical insurance with adequate altitude and, for expeditions, helicopter rescue cover is mandatory on all our trips. See our insurance guide for what to look for.
Can you arrange private or custom trips?
Yes. Most of our trips can run as private departures on your own dates, and we build fully custom itineraries for couples, families and groups.
What is included in the price?
Typically guides, porters, cooks, camping, permits, in-country transport and meals on trek. International flights, visa fees, personal gear and insurance are usually excluded. Each tour lists its own inclusions.
Which airport should I fly into?
Islamabad International Airport is the usual arrival point. We meet you there and handle onward transport to the mountains by road or domestic flight.
